Day 1: Hanoi – Tam Dao (Breakfast, lunch, dinner)

It takes us two hour to drive in a private van to the mountainous town of Tam Dao. Located at an altitude of 1,000 meters (approx. 3280 feet). Today Tam Dao still retains its element of charm and a welcome respite from the sometimes heated plains below. On the way we will stop to visit to the MOON BEAR RESCUE CENTER, one of the biggest World class reserves in Asia. This is where the native, former farm bears, now live in comfortable dens and semi-natural enclosures. After a short video showing what the reserve does, and how they care for the bears, we will visit the living quarters of over 200 rescued Moon and Sun bears. Leaving the center, we continue on to Tam Dao town. At around mid-day you will be checked into the Resort. After lunch we head out to visit the 45 meter high (148 feet) SILVER WATERFALL (Thac Bac). We also visit the Old Church, local market and the Buddhist temple dedicated to the God of the Jungle. The remainder of the day is yours to relax. Day 2: Tam Dao – Hanoi (Breakfast, lunch)

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and drive you back to Hanoi. En route we will stop to allow you to enjoy a short bike ride of 5km (Approx. 3 miles) through the countryside, until we reach the TRUC LAM ZEN MONASTERY. Here we will visit this very fascinating complex, learning about Buddhism and meditation. We will enjoy a simple vegetarian lunch cooked and served by the monks. After lunch we continue our journey back to Hanoi. You will arrive back at your hotel in the late afternoon. End of our services. Note: for those of you who do not wish to ride a bike, you will continue on to the Monastery by bus, for your comfort and convenience.
